Merry Christmas, Sushi
For awhile now, my husband and I had looked, longingly, at the cat trees at the store. Like for many families, money has been tight in our household for some time, and cat trees aren't really cheap. I found a cat playground thing on Craigslist that we paid $10 for from a guy whose cats didn't take to it. However, it was basically four boards, covered in carpet and nailed together in a shape like an roman numeral "2." She liked that, but it wasn't built well so it fell apart after a few months. We found ourselves staring at the cat trees again this past week, and I made a deal with my husband - we'll buy the cat tree, but don't get me any presents. To be honest, watching her play on the cat tree is hilarious and probably gives me as much pleasure as most gifts I could get. She loves to lay on her side, put all her paws on the carpeted pole, and "run" around like a lumberjack in a log-spinning contest - but sideways.

Aww, how sweet! And very selfless, sacrificing your gift so you could give one to your kitty!
I really want a cat tree as well, but I don't have the money OR the space, so I guess they will just have to wait.

I also planned to get a cat tree for Chica & Pumuckl this Christmas. But the nice ones are so expensive. Now the kitties grandpa and I decided to build one ourselves... let's see how it will turn out ;-)

We had a cat named Sushi once...
How sweet of you to buy her a cat tree. We have a medium height cat tree which I know is too small for our huge cat Sammy. I will wait until it falls apart before buying one that is floor to ceiling. They cost about 150 Euro's over here!

Very cute! I love that cat tree. (And a great name for a cat!)

That's so sweet. I've been wanting one of those cat trees for my cats too.
My husband and I don't exchange Christmas gifts, though, so there's no deal to be had there.
My cats will eventually get the cat tree they deserve. :)

i cant use the one that go to the ceiling. i have a slanted ceiling so when my cat would jump to get down , it would fly and almost kill him.

You are the kind of pet owner I appreciate, unselfish, putting Sushi before yourself. But as you found out, when you give from your heart, you are the one who finds the most joy in it. Enjoy watching your cat, you deserve the happiness. Happy holidays :)

Oh, that is adorable! Now I want one for my Stella! I know what you mean about it giving you joy watching Sushi playing on it! I just got done telling my son who asks me at least 10 times a day "how many more days until Christmas??" that what gets me excited about Christmas is the gifts that I give (which this year are all from etsy, thank you very much) to others and seeing their excitement! Of course to a 6-yr. old, that doesn't make any sense, but I feel ya! I'm completely done with my shopping and paid for everything myself (from my sales on etsy) and THAT makes it all worth while for me!
Cheers,
Deb:)
