Like many places in the midwestern part of the United States, this week, we had a two day period in which we got several inches of snow, ice, and then several more inches of snow. Unlike most of my coworkers, I was able to make it into work on Wednesday, likely thanks to front-wheel drive and brand new tires. I took this photo of the tree outside of my office.
In high school, I was a goth. This was back in the early 1990s, and, by today's standards, I was a pretty tame goth. However, I went to a relatively conservative high school, in a relatively affluent area of Louisville, so one toe over the line was rather startling. Regardless, I've always had an affinity for gothic-esque clothing and accessories. These days, most of that preference is just seen in my choice of earrings. Yesterday, I broke my current trend of gemstone earrings and "went home," so to speak, to the type of earrings I made when I first started. Above, you can see my Deathly Triangle Earrings, which are currently available in my Etsy shop. I also made a pair of spider earrings, similar to the skull ones, that will be listed soon. I also recently listed my Grin of the Skulls earrings, which you can see below.

This is just so super cool and fuzzy & warm and awesome. Neko Case, Middle Cyclone
One of my new favorite songs. It's always good to have a few songs that you haven't heard a million times...yet
In the past, the opalite that I've used has only been lovely milky periwinkle. However, I recently discovered a different color of opalite that I think has a strong "otherworld" appearance. I quick search on Etsy only brings up the white and blue versions of opalite on the first few pages of results. It looks like this version of opalite is rarely used. With its tones of purple, cranberry and amber, I think it's quite striking. Below, you can see various photos of my Blueshift Earrings which show the difference in the stone's color depending on the light.
As you saw in my last post, I recently bought a new lightbox. Sushi, my cat, of course, decided it was hers and immediately climbed into it. However, I have been able to take some new photos of my earrings in the lightbox while Sushi was off doing other things like eating or sleeping. The lightbox was only $12, and that included the shipping. It's a pop-up so it stores easily. I got it from dk_murray on eBay. I think it was well worth the price. A new lightbox
This is one of my newest pendants, available in my online shop. I saw these handmade doll's faces in a local bead store and decided to see what I could do with one. Definitely a one-of-a-kind piece!
